The sky unleashes
thunder magic
with increasing intensity
Cold breezes rattle against
window panes spattered with
silver raindrops
I think of you
in your far-off world
and the familiar paths you walk
as well as the unexpected ones
And I wonder
Do you still smile
at silver raindrops
Does their music bring
a pause to your step,
with rainbow memories
of treasured moments
The crackle of the fire,
the flicker of the candle flames,
the sudden flutter of the curtains
just before a stilled hush
Quickly here and quickly gone
the storm passes on,
driven by the wind
with its own purpose for being
Would that I followed
my own path
with such unquestioning certainty
and graceful acceptance
